Global Cancer Care: Oncology Physicians Education and Training Survey

We invite you to participate in a research project aimed at characterizing the oncology training received by oncologists around the world. Globally, becoming an oncologist involves various pathways following medical school. Core oncology training takes the form of medical oncology, radiation oncology and clinical oncology.

Health systems worldwide are struggling to keep up with a rapidly increasing number of health challenges in part due to the severe global health workforce crisis. There is not only a shortage of healthcare workers, but also disparities between different geographic regions.

The purpose of this study is to obtain a snapshot of the oncology training received by the global  oncology physician workforce. Our study proposes to survey practicing oncologists as well as trainees to gain an understanding of their training background, and its relevance in preparing them for their current practice. We also wish to gather your opinions on the relevance and feasibility of current pathways of training, and more generally, of future trends in career pathways in oncology.

We hope that the information gathered from this study will help in laying the groundwork for the future of training in oncology on a global scale and provide a framework for policy decisions regarding educational reforms.

The survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete and we would highly appreciate your input.

Your participation in this survey is entirely voluntary. You are free to withdraw at any time by closing the browser. Your responses to this survey are considered anonymous and will only be used for the purpose of this study. Individual responses will not be shared or published; rather, results will be collated and analyzed in aggregate to be presented in publications or at conferences.
