Highlights from the European Commission’s Conference on Innovative Palliative Care for Cancer Patients


CPE was honoured to attend and play an active role on the steering committee for the European Commission’s conference on Innovative Palliative Care, held in Brussels on Tuesday, 8 October 2024. As part of this effort, we contributed to identifying the speakers for this event and the development of the EU Cancer Mission’s policy brief  “Innovative palliative care for people with cancer: sustainable solutions for the future” which lays out six essential recommendations to enhance palliative care

At the launch event of the OnHome Alliance on the 29th of October, 2024, CPE’s Policy Officer, Joséphine Mosset, joined key health stakeholders to emphasise the importance of online prescription access, explaining how this initiative holds the potential to enhance equity, support treatment adherence, and improve patient safety, particularly for cancer patients in remote areas across Europe.

CPE is proud to support this event, organised by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) with the scientific coordination of the European Regional and Local Health Authorities (EUREGHA), which will be hosted by the European Committee of the Regions on 13 November 2024, from 9:00 to 12:30. Our CEO, Antonella Cardone, will take the stage as a keynote speaker to address the important issues of patient expectations and equitable access, underscoring the need for all patients in Europe to benefit from advancements in oncology.
