Cancer does not affect everyone equally. This session explores how gender and sexual identity influence cancer risks, treatment access, and disease outcomes for women and LGBTIQ individuals who continue facing unique barriers rooted in inequality. Drawing on insights from ECO’s work on Women and Cancer and the LGBTIQ Community Survey, this session will discuss the urgent need for inclusive, equitable, and bias-free cancer care across Europe. Hear from leading voices shaping the future of equitable cancer policy, including Emma Rafowicz MEP, Isabelle Soerjomataram, Deputy Head of IARC’s Cancer Surveillance Branch. The session is organised by ECO’s Inequalities Network and will take place on Wednesday, 19 November from 09:15 to 10:30 CET. |
